How To Get A Top Ranking On Search Engines In 2018
hint: we have a gift for you at the very end...
Organic traffic (aka. the good traffic) is like the holy grail of traffic. Not just because it's free, but also because it's qualified traffic. Someone actually searched for the topic you write about. There's no better way of building a loyal base of website visitors.
The below mentioned 5 hot search engine optimization (SEO) tips will help you to get more free (and qualified) traffic to your blog!
SEO Tip #1: Pick Your Favorite Keyword
For each piece of content focus on just 1 main-keyword. Additionally, you can choose 3 - 4 more keywords, but just for the purpose to support the main one. Figure your #1 keyword out BEFORE you actually start to write. Don't get fancy by playing around with too many topics and keywords. Focus is the key(word).
SEO Tip #2: Use Image Titles (+ ALT tags)
I'm pretty sure you already use a lot of images on your posts (good job!). But you should also have image titles and set so-called "ALT tags" on your images.
Most of the time the raw-image you want to use on your posts has a weird name, right? Some random letters and numbers. If you really want to rank for the keywords you looked up at SEO Tip #1, you should include the main-keyword to your image titles. Just rename it before uploading.
An ALT-tag is actually just a piece of text your website will show your website visitor in case the image couldn't be shown (for whatsoever reasons).
SEO Tip #3: Use A Keyword In Your URL
URLs like thisisyourblog.com/123982737 are bad. By doing this you are giving away so much ranking potential. Better rename it to something like (assuming your blog post is about the fashion week) thisisyourblog.com/fashion-week-2018.
It not just looks cleaner on your visitor's browser but also sets you in a way better position for a good ranking.
SEO Tip #4: Link Up Your Other Posts
You probably already wrote about some great topics. If it makes sense, include those posts into your new one by linking them up.
Also, consider editing your old posts and link up your new and fresh content.
SEO Tip#5: BACKLINKS
Backlinks are links to your blog from other websites. This is the ultimate trust factor and has one of the highest impacts on your ranking. If you can, collaborate with as many blogger friends as possible getting those important backlinks to your website.
